The present edition regards the Proceedings of the Scientific Conference on “The wood-carved iconostasis of Post-Byzantine times (16th – 19th c.)” that was organised in the context of the temporary exhibition “TEMPLON. Holy figures, invisible gates of faith, 20th and 21st centuries”. The two-day International Scientific Conference was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports on 30.11 and 1.12.2018 in the Museum’s amphitheatre“Melina Mercouri”.
The topics proposed for discussion via the two invitations issued were the form/architecture, typology, decoration, technique, semiotics, function and aesthetic of the Post-Byzantine woodcarved iconostasis and related questions of terminology.
