The Museum of Byzantine Culture participating in the “Green Cultural Routes” for the ninth year highlights the plant world through its exhibits.
The Green Cultural Routes is a nationwide communication action, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports. The aim is to promote sustainable development by educating citizens on issues of protection and promotion of both the natural environment and the cultural wealth of the country.
In this context, the Museum of Byzantine Culture organizes the following activities:
• Thursday, May 26, 2022, 12.00: thematic tour in the rooms of the Museum with the aim of highlighting the presence of the plant world in objects of the permanent exhibition by archaeologists of the Museum. Visitors will approach the form and symbolism of plants in Byzantine art through the objects of the permanent exhibition.
• Friday 27 May 2022, 11.00: educational program in the rooms of the Museum adapted to the theme of the day by an archaeologist-museologist of the Museum. Students will approach the form and symbolism of plants in Byzantine art through the objects of the permanent exhibition. The action will be completed with the distribution of seasonal plants in collaboration with the Deputy Mayor for Quality of Life of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
Admission to the Museum will be free for participants in the events.
