Opening of the exhibition entitled “Banners, valuable conversations”

The Museum of Byzantine Culture and the Italian Educational Institute of Athens invite you to the opening of the new exhibition of works by the artist Maria Kombatsiari on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. in the reception area of the Museum of Byzantine Culture. Titled ‘Banners, Valuable Conversations’, the exhibition refers to a section of works created from gilded ribbons, velvet, gold embroidered details and gems. It is a conversation between contemporary works and objects from the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Byzantine Culture and is presented in room 10 “Byzantium after Byzantium” of the museum.
The exhibition is under the auspices of the Italian Educational Institute of Athens and is presented to the public for the first time.
Entrance on the opening day is free.
Curator of the exhibition: Dr. Agathoniki Tsilipakou, Director of the Museum of Byzantine Culture.
Exhibition duration: September 14- October 13
Guided tours by the artist: Sunday 18/9 at 12.00, Friday 30/9 at 17:00 and Sunday 9/10 at 12.00.
Visiting hours: 08:00 – 20:00, daily and weekends.
