“I speak… Evidence and testimonies”: Exhibition in the frame of the events of the Year of Manolis Anagnostakis
15.10.2015 - 15.12.2015
The year 2015, by decision of the City Council of Thessaloniki, was named “Year of Manolis Anagnostakis”. This exhibition, titled “I speak… Evidence and testimonies”,is part of the events that take place during this year. For the exhibition, the curator chose, in collaboration with scientific advisers, a narration, which, while closely monitoring the route of life and the poet’s work, it is constantly crossed by a multiple commentary, which aims to challenge the standard ways of identification and presentation, and to propose collateral, multifarious and ambiguous readings.
The exhibition aims to show to the public a series of more or less known documents in a different way. Divided into “six+one” units, it highlights the dynamics of the objects, but (and: mainly) also of the speech in multiple narratives. In the “six” units it is Manolis Anagnostakis himself, poet, physician, citizen, man, who speaks (some sketches annotate his presence). In “+ one” unit others talk about him; colleagues, poets, critics, philologists, who talk with his work, while authors and artists record, transcribe and transform his own creations into other “languages”, which follow the way of narration (biography, interview), the way of music, the ways of images.
