Hyperpyron of Michael VΙII Palaeologus
On the one side the Virgin is depicted praying at the walls of Constantinople. On the other side Archangel Michael presents the kneeling emperor to Christ. Next to the emperor, are the inscriptions IC XC (Jesus Christ) and P Τ. The coin was struck at the Constantinople mint.
