Teta Makri
11.03.2015 - 06.05.2015
The Museum of Byzantine Culture presents to the public the exhibition of Teta Makri, professor Emerita of the School of Fine Arts (A.U.Th.). The recent work of the artist is presented in the exhibition.
The relationship of the artist with the canvas and the constant re-negotiation of the subject of the painting do not prevent Teta Makri to resort to video, to writing or to installation, thus setting up a complex mechanism of commentary of imaginary perceptions, of activation of the memory and of reference to the experience. This complex web of fragmentary, elliptical narratives, with a clear reference both to the history of painting and to the stories of people, is at the core of her artistic suggestion.
On the brochure that accompanies the exhibition, one can see the different approach of the artistic works, being attempted by the four authors of the texts.
