Traditional Cretan dances and delicacies by the adult dancing group of the Association of Friends of the Cretan Tradition "Xasteria" in Thermi. The event is co-organized by the Museum of Byzantine Culture and the Association of Friends of the Cretan Tradition "Xasteria" in Thermi on the occasion of the temporary exhibition "Kazantzakis and Byzantium: the quest for the divine" presented at the Museum of Byzantine Culture (Multiple-use hall "Eftychia Kourkoutidou-Nikolaidou" ) until 15th of September.
Cretan origin, writing at multiple levels and the multifaceted engagement with Divine Drama and man made Nikos Kazantzakis one of the most beloved and recognizable writers in Greece and abroad.
"I hope nothing, I am not afraid of anything. I am free" is written on the tombstone at his tomb in Heraklion, Crete. It is a triptych that summarizes the life and work of the great creator.
Modern scholars and thinkers say that "There is a secret law in this world - if it did not exist, the world would be lost thousands of years ago - cruel and inviolate: evil always triumphs at the beginning and always is defeated in the end".
