Cretan origin, writing at multiple levels and the multifaceted engagement with Divine Drama and man made Nikos Kazantzakis one of the most beloved and recognizable writers in Greece and abroad.

"I hope nothing, I am not afraid of anything. I am free" is written on the tombstone at his tomb in Heraklion, Crete. It is a triptych that summarizes the life and work of the great creator.

Modern scholars and thinkers say that "There is a secret law in this world - if it did not exist, the world would be lost thousands of years ago - cruel and inviolate: evil always triumphs at the beginning and always is defeated in the end".
