HOMER’ S ILIAD- A DIFFERENT WAR IN THE STREETS OF THESSALONIKI

The performance is about the 15.693 verses of the 24 rapsodies, and relates the 51 days and 3 nights of the last year of the Trojan War.

More specifically, 6 performers (3 actors - 3 actresses) will relate the epic poem in 24 different spots of Thessaloniki, the same number as the rapsodies. The event will be free of charge so that anyone can attend it. It is about to last 4 days(17-20/12/2020), 6 rapsodies will be performed each day and they will be scheduled in such a way that will enable everyone’s attendance, from the random passer-by to the systematic spectator of all 24 rapsodies. There will also be informative material on all 24 spots about the performance, the schedule of the place and time of the performances, an overview and information of the rapsodies performed, as well as information about the place or monument where the performance takes place.

 
At  the Museum of Byzantine Culture, actor Dionysis Karathanasis will narrate the the Y” rhapsody (GODS WAR)
